Serezha Maslov was also a winner in Grant competition 2001. His
application consisted in computer projects “Speaking monuments”,
“Clouds of sounds and smells” and “Roaming landscape spheres”. He
bought all necessary equipment and conversing with Roman Arefyev
at SCCA began to master computer programs. Roman, as a rule, was
satisfactory nodding his shaggy head and Serezha - his almost bald
head. For pity Serezha made only computer project for “no mad’s
land” exhibition in Berlin that he described in “Izvestya” newspaper:
“The most funny work at the exhibition was installation by Sergey
Maslov “Baykonur-2”. There was a three-storied rocket with stabilizers
that was recollected from former yurt and decorated with national
ornament. There was a computer in that showed a film complained
from ethnographical pictures of the XIX century. There were kazakhs
in the neighbourhood of moonscape, rockets and protective suits
on the pictures. They were drinking tea, smoking and posing near
aliens or Russian emperor. A was said that they came from Sirius
and with the help of genetic engineering created people from monkeys”.
