"Erkin" exhibition
The union of Kazakhstanian artists and SCCA-Almaty and the party of Kazakhstanian
patriots represent an "Erkin" Exhibition (translating from kazakh language
"Free man"), where new works of famous master, national artist and sculptor
of Republic of Kazakhstan Erkin Tlekovich Mergenov are demonstrating.
In this exposition you can see three works from the "XX century" series.
At this series the author has been working during last several years.
"Pieta" Composition. The theme of the composition is anthological
for the classic academic art. It is connected with a bible theme of mother's
deploring her dead son and in the art of Renaissance and Middle Ages was
an illustration of Christian subject - Maria's deploring Jesus, who dead
on the cross for saving all people.
"Apophes
2" Composition. This composition is a continuation of the theme
about women and outward factors, which form community's conscience and
its development at present. In the "Apophes 1" Composition this factor
was represented in nature, which was mutilated by technological processes.
In a new composition this factor is "Something", which was born by a man
and which has become his internal true symptom.
"Kuros"
Composition. These are names of the first capacitive sculptural representations,
which were given to heroes or soldiers in the art of archaic Greece (VII-VI
BC). To history of culture these monuments came in by two reasons. The
first is as earlier artistic reflection of civic conscience. And the second
is as the first monument, which was showing an ideal form of national
hero.
During the work at this compositions sculptor didn't clave to resolve
themes, which he had put before. Their names were born later as an ironical
cue and as a willing to connect different stages of different cultures,
which change their ideals.
