Fourth Biennial of
Contemporary Painting of the Islamic World
The Fourth Biennial of Contemporary Painting of the Islamic World will be
held from November 9th to December 11th, 2006 in order to promote
communication and communion of minds between artists in view of highlighting
the particularities of contemporary painting in the Islamic world (in
Islamic countries and among Muslim communities in non Islamic countries).

Aims of the Biennial
- Promoting cultural relations and exchanges of contemporary artistic
experiences among painters across the Islamic World;
- Appreciating the pictorial experiences of young painters in Islamic
societies;
- Examining and emphasizing the fundaments of the spiritual identity of
Islamic art in the works of contemporary artists in the Islamic world.

Works submission deadline: September 30th, 2006
Exhibition date: November 9th - December 11th, 2006
Admission rules
- Subject and technique will be free;
- Any artist will be allowed to enter a maximum of five works in each
section;
- Pictures of the works should be sent as either 300 DPI digitized files of
approximately 10 x 15 cm (TIF or JPEG format) on compact disc (CD), A4-size
photographs or prints, or photographic slides;
- These pictures should be accompanied by a photograph of the artist, his
or her personal specifications, and his or her works, titles, styles,
dimensions and execution dates. This information should appear below the
works;
- The works presented should be dated either 2005 or 2006;
- The works should not exceed 300 cm in their larger dimension or measure
less than 50 cm in their smaller;
Expedition and selection
- The pictures submitted will not be returned;
- Pictures of poor quality will not be reviewed;
- The artists whose works are selected will be invited to forward their
originals to the secretariat of the exhibition in view of a final selection
and their eventual participation in the exhibition;
- The Academy of Art will be entitled to publish the pictures submitted for
publicity purposes.
