INTER-FACESACTION / ARTS / Management LLP Inter-Faces' is an exhibition of international Contemporary video art. In part, this title comes from the digital intervention of this particular medium. More importantly, though, the title of the exhibition draws upon the idea that the exhibition will function as a nexus of cultural convergence. By focusing on the themes of identity and place, to illustrate the existence and importance of cross-cultural communication and identities, the juxtaposition of these artists' work conveys the relative universality of the human experience. With the inclusion of fifteen artists that represent ten nations, an overview of the various dialects of video art is given. Some highlights of this collection of artists are works by Jeremy Deller, Artists Anonymous, and Jeroen Offerman. Jeremy Deller is a London-based artist that works mostly with the mediums of photography, video, and sculpture. His work has been exhibited at several world-renowned art galleries and museums, such as: the Institute for Contemporary Art of London, the Whitechapel Gallery, the Barbican Centre, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and all of the Tate Galleries. Furthermore, he has represented the UK at the Venice, Taipei, and Moscow Biennales. In Almaty, Inter-Faces will exhibit Deller's 2004 Turner Prize winning work Memory Bucket . Artists Anonymous is a collective of UK and German artists. Their work has been extensively exhibited throughout Europe and America at cutting-edge galleries and art fairs. The explorative work of this group, which manipulates many of the technical controls of the medium of video, fuses elements of painting with the moving image. Selected for their ingenuity and provocative nature, the works of Artists Anonymous are located in the highly esteemed Deutsche Bank and Saatchi Collections. For the Inter-Faces exhibition a selection of the group's principal works will be shown. Jeroen Offerman originated from Holland, however, he has spent his working career between: London, Berlin, and Rotterdam. His work has been widely publicized in numerous books and arts periodicals and has been exhibited many prominent venues, including: the Louvre Museum of Paris and the Institute of Contemporary Art of London. The work of Offerman's that Inter-Faces will showcase is the piece Stairway to Saint Paul's. Having garnered numerous awards and prominent film festival screenings, this seminal work confronts the myths of rock and roll music and the anxieties that surround popular culture. Additionally, Inter-Faces will feature the work of these cutting-edge artists: David Blandy, Philipp Donstov, Matt Calderwood, Jorge Sosa, Conor Kelly, Simon Faithful, Nada Prija, John Hughes, Mai Hofstad Gunnes, Josh Tonsfeldt, Donna Conlon, Suky Best, and Rory Hamilton.
